Leakage is usually the major cause of water loss in water distribution systems. It not only wastes money but can also create a serious public health risk. InfoWater LDM provides a powerful and cost-effective tool to assist water utilities in accurately localizing and locating leaks in their distribution systems for planning subsequent repair.

InfoWater LDM provides a fully automated geospatial approach to develop a reliable and comprehensive leakage management strategy. It implements the "step-testing" approach for leak detection. Step testing is the process of localizing leakage by the systematic closing of valves during the period of minimum night flow. The flow data is then analyzed and compared with modeled flow results to determine the pipe sections with suspected leakage.

InfoWater LDM features include:

•  Provide detailed plan of the step test area
•  Identify all boundary valves that need to be closed to tightly isolate step-test area
•  Highlight all circulating valves that need to be closed to create a tree-type system
•  Show all step valves that need to be operated during the test
•  Highlight all other valves, not used during the test, to avoid their opening or closing in error
•  Produce all step sequences (in forward and reverse orders)
•  Generate plots and tables of flow vs step sequence to highlight any disproportionate drops in flow (indicating suspected leakage)
