I just wanted to pass on my observations since fully delving into our H₂OMAP upgrade, under the gun to complete a rather substantial analysis under consideration as a joint venture with Metropolitan Water District. I push software. I push ALL software. If anyone can lock up a PC, it is I and I came to some decisive determinations and conclusions which I have already shared vigorously in-house. Never before have I worked on a more stable system to perform intricate runs successively. H₂OMAP never crashed once during the entire session. Having worked with so many different hydraulic analysis software products dating back to the dark ages, I was absolutely amazed! It was hard to assimilate how stable this version/package really is. A sheer pleasure.

Other enhancements I found pleased me almost as much (stability will stay as numero uno for me for a while), were improved functionality and increased accessibility to procedures I perform over and over during analytical evaluations (i.e., monitoring hydraulic grade line contours as improvements are added, tested, and refined). The most obvious improvement is in the program interface itself and the new streamlined, more aesthetically pleasing look of the program. I mention this last, because looks just aren't everything. Performance is what counts in my book. Which leads me to my final comment for you three: THIS IS THE BEST PERFORMING HYDRAULIC ANALYSIS SOFTWARE I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH BY FAR.... And did I mention stability?

Seriously, I want to sincerely thank everyone of you for being so patient and so efficient in assisting our staff here at EMWD. As you know, I am not shy and do not hesitate to ask, test, or push the envelope with regard to analytical tools and concepts. We ended up with about 4000 pipes in our model. I ran the model for the first time yesterday, and it solves a steady state run in about a half of a second, which is very impressive. I ran a fire analysis for the entire network of about 3,000 junctions, and it solved it in about 15 minutes. I feel that these times are very fast, and I am very happy with the model performance. I have found that often, software of this complexity is very poorly documented, but H₂ONET is just the opposite.
