Extended Fireflow Simulation
The optional “Duration” entry allows users to extend the fire-flow run over an extended time period from the defined fire-flow instant.  This option is enabled only if the “Duration” entry is selected and the given duration value is greater than 0.0.  The module maintains the fire-flow at the simulating fire junction for the entire fire-flow duration.  During this extended time period, the program will search for critical junction with the lowest pressure and the critical pipe with the highest velocity, if selected, from the currently defined searching range.  A separate report type “Fireflow Extended Time” will then be available from the Output Report Manager.  The report highlights the critical conditions for this extended time run period.

ModelTracker
Record keeping and tracking the changes made to a model during the model building, calibration, analysis and design phases could be a nightmare if not supported by an efficient tool. The ModelTracker simplifies these tasks for H2OMap Water users. ModelTracker tools enable users to create, store, retrieve and manage model related supplemental information to show the evolution of the model throughout the project life-cycle.  The advanced query and search capability offered by ModelTracker allows users to easily locate the desired historical information and verify changes and additions. The Model Notes Editor, a component of ModelTracker, facilitates annotating model changes using a rich text editing interface which provides user-friendly tools to capture all the desired information and highlight important information.

Network Review/Fix Tool
The Network Review/Fix Tool is a comprehensive network drawing examination and correction application for use in constructing reliable, credible working models ready for analysis. It offers users complete functionality to quickly identify and automatically correct any network topology problems (e.g., disconnected nodes) and data flaws (e.g., duplicated pipes or nodes) that may arise from digitizing a model or building it using pre-existing GIS and CAD datasets. The Tool consists of many useful applications including:

Locate Nodes in Close Proximity (Overlapping/Duplicate Nodes)
Nodes in close proximity designate nodes that overlap (accidentally duplicated) as shown in the figure below. The Network Review/Fix Tool allows the user to instantly view every node in close vicinity of another node (based on any specified distance) and automatically merge the identified nodes into one where necessary.

Locate Pipe-Split Candidates

Pipe-split candidates represent separate pipe sections that should be connected by a common node as depicted in the figure below.

The Network Review/Fix Tool allows the user to rapidly locate all pipe-split candidates in the network that are within a specified distance of their end nodes and automatically make the connection where appropriate.

Locate Crossing/Intersecting Pipes
Crossing pipes refer to those pipes that cross but do not intersect at a common node as shown in the figure below.

The Network Review/Fix Tool allows the user to rapidly view all crossing pipe candidates in the network and automatically create the intersection where necessary.

Locate Orphan Pipes
Orphan pipes are pipe sections which have no end (terminal) nodes. The Network Review/Fix Tool allows the user to quickly locate all the orphan pipes in the network model and automatically add junction nodes at their endpoints as shown in the figure below.

Locate Superimposed/Duplicate Pipes
Duplicate pipes are superimposed/parallel pipes that share the same curvilinear shape. The Network Review/Fix Tool is able to rapidly identify all duplicate pipe candidates in the network model. The user can then determine if a parallel pipe actually exists and, if so, re-route (redraw) the pipe in a noticeable manner or remove/delete it from the model if such a duplicate pipe does not actually exist as shown in the figure below.

Locate Disconnected Nodes

Disconnected nodes are stray nodes (i.e., are not connected to any pipe) that are separated from the rest of the network as shown in the figure below.

The Network Review/Fix Tool allows the user to quickly locate and highlight all junction nodes in the network that are not connected to any pipe. The user can then choose to connect those junctions to the system or remove them.

Trace Network

The Network Trace function launches a spanning tree to identify all pipes and nodes in the network that can be reached from any specified location (source node) via a connected path. The source node does not need to be a tank or reservoir. This function allows the user to instantly view all portions of the network model that are disconnected from any node as shown in the figure below. The user can then easily determine if a hydraulic connection actually exists and, if so, make the connection in the model.

Vacuum Breaker Valve
Vacuum breaker valves are devices that allow air to enter at that location in the system when the pressure drops to atmospheric level. They are generally installed at high points in a pipeline to prevent low pressure (cavitation). When the pressure drops to zero, the valve becomes active and will compute the correct flow rate required to maintain atmospheric condition.

Hydraulic Calculator
The hydraulic calculator is a powerful and useful computational toolbox for carrying out hydraulic analysis and design calculations for pressurized pipes. It automatically computes pipe flow rate, velocity and headloss based on user-specified parameters using the Manning's, Hazen-Williams and Darcy-Weisbach/Colebrook-White formulas.

True Variable Speed Pump Modeling
H2OMAP Water allows fast and accurate modeling of variable speed pumps (a.k.a fixed pressure pumps) which will automatically adjust their speed to maintain any user-specified target pressures/heads anywhere in the network. The targeted heads/pressures are allowed to vary with time during an EPS. H2OMAP uses an exact analytical solution for variable speed pumping that ensures excellent and unmatched convergence characteristics. In-line booster stations can also be modeled as VSPs.

Comprehensive Attribute Editing of GIS Layers
H2OMAP Water allows you to view, modify and update data attributes associated with any GIS layer. This important modeling utility tool enables you to review, analyze and manipulate background GIS layers based on any project specific needs and keep your GIS data up-to-date with the on-going development of your hydraulic model.

Pressure Dependent Demand Analyses
H2OMAP Water will automatically carry out pressure-demand analysis (head-driven demand analysis) to compute the percentage (%) of demand supplied to each node (ratio of actual demand vs specified demand). Such an analysis can be very useful for modeling failing systems (short or long term), to study the effects of pressure reduction (on both demand and leakage), and to identify all critical locations where the system is the most sensitive and to what extent.
